About
Black, Indigenous, & People of Color have a deep understanding of tracking as an everyday practice. We do not always track wildlife. Sometimes we find ourselves tracking the behavior of others, the safety of a space, or the ways our bodies are speaking to us. This is a new and modernized way of tracking.Â
We would not be here today if our ancestors were not expert trackers of wildlife. Knowing their behavior and travel routes allowed them to find food and keep their people alive. For some, it was a way of navigating the land to find freedom. Today tracking has become a part of conservation work and a hobby to many naturalists. Learn how to connect to your wild kin by witnessing their everyday lives.Â
In this workshop we will spend the day identifying wildlife tracks and sign. We will touch on topics such as track morphology, animal behavior and signs, track patterns and gait, and much more.Â
A detailed packing list will be sent upon registration
