Program Description Much of what we know about the natural world today has come from people of color. Environmental education came from experiences and knowledge taught by marginalized communities, yet the environmental historiography lacks many of these contributions in educational texts. This interactive workshop offers an introductory look into the historical impacts that people of color have had in environmental justice, conservation, and regenerative technology, and offers ways to uplift diversity within your own community or environmental organization. Accessibility This 2-hour workshop is an interactive and educational workshop that is intended for educators, outdoor enthusiasts, or anyone who is interested in expanding their knowledge of historical leaders in the environmental field. This workshop offers space and opportunity to those and who seek to understand how to uplift diversity within their outdoor community, school, or business while utilizing both their voice and their privilege in the environmental field. This workshop offers ways to bring voices of color to the table around environmentalism.
